William (Bill) Habelt is a patent attorney with extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, and procuring trademark registrations, both in the United States and abroad. Mr. Habelt also has considerable experience in developing and executing patent procurement strategies, rendering product clearance, patent infringement and validity opinions, and client counseling on intellectual property matters in general.

Mr. Habelt has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in the mechanical engineering and chemical process arts, including air conditioning systems, commercial refrigeration systems, aircraft systems, automotive systems, food service equipment, fossil fuel combustion systems, pulp and paper systems, and kaolin clay processing.

Before joining Marjama Muldoon, Mr. Habelt, as Intellectual Property Counsel, managed the Intellectual Property Law Department of Carrier Corporation, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation. In his 14 years with United Technologies Corporation, Mr. Habelt also served as Intellectual Property Counsel at UT Automotive and Associate Patent Counsel for United Technologies’ Hamilton Standard division. Prior to joining United Technologies Corporation, Mr. Habelt worked for Combustion Engineering for 12 years as a patent attorney and 7 years as an engineer.

Mr. Habelt serves on the Advisory Board for the Paralegal Studies program at Syracuse University's University College and is also an Adjunct Professor, teaching a course in Intellectual Property in the Paralegal Studies program.
